Nadi Josiyam, or Nadi Astrology, is a unique and ancient form of astrology that traces its origins back to the sages of ancient India. This system of astrology is believed to have been developed by the great sage Agasthya and other revered sages who had the foresight to record the life details of individuals on palm leaves thousands of years ago. These palm leaves, known as Nadi leaves, contain the past, present, and future details of individuals as dictated by these sages through their divine wisdom. Nadi Astrology is believed to have originated in the Tamil Nadu region of South India, particularly around the Vaitheeswaran Koil temple.

The name "Nadi" is derived from the root word in Tamil, which means "to seek" or "to search." The ancient sages, through their deep meditative practices and divine insights, composed these records to help future generations gain insights into their lives and destinies. The palm leaves used in Nadi Josiyam are not just ordinary leaves but are specifically chosen and prepared for recording these divine insights. The process involves the selection of mature palm leaves, which are then treated and inscribed with the help of sharp, stylus-like tools. These inscriptions are written in ancient Tamil script and are incredibly detailed. Each Nadi leaf set is typically organized into different chapters or "Kandams." Each Kandam addresses various aspects of an individual's life. Some of the most common Kandams include the General Kandam, which provides a general overview of the individual's life, including key details about family, education, career, marriage, and other significant events.

There is also the Family and Relationships Kandam, focusing on the individual's relationships, including details about parents, siblings, spouse, and children, as well as insights into marital life and any potential challenges. The Career Kandam offers detailed predictions about the individual's professional life, including career choices, job changes, promotions, and overall success in their chosen field.
